So this year got away from me quick. Like, super quick.
I'm gonna go ahead and place the blame on theatre taking over my life. The company I helped Katy open, Unquiet Theatre Company, has been going steady and strong since our One Act Festival Fundraiser in January. We've since put on our first full length play, Some Girl(s) by Neil LaBute, and it went over extremely well. This past Monday the cast for our next show, and first musical, was set. Rocky Horror will play the last 3 weekends in October and the buzz for the show is already going crazy...people are so excited!
While most of my creative output has been theatre related, I haven't completely abandoned other forms. I'm still writing and working on crochet projects. Actually since we're in July I'm currently in the middle of Camp NaNo and thankfully well ahead in word count. I'm also in the process of crochet a gift for Mom's birthday. Now, when I say "Mom" I don't mean my biological mother...she's my friend Tim's mother that everyone pretty much calls Mom. She's kinda the coolest and her birthday was last Friday so her present from me will be late but I'm thinking she'll like it. *fingers crossed*
You may also notice a little change in the page headings...I'm no longer committing to a Year of Crafty Crap so this page is just my Blog of Crafty Crap and going along with that I'll only be writing out goals for the current month instead of the whole year. I think this is more realistic for where I'm at right now.
As for the rest of this month's goals:
Some Girl(s) Videos - edit & burn: Since we double casted the show that's double the videos to go through. It's slow going but I'm making progress.
Katy's Scene Project w/Tim -film, edit, & burn: We did the filming last night. I got us a hotel room since the show takes place in one and none of our bedrooms were suitable. After a lot of goofing off, a run to get props, retakes, different angles that involved me stand on the bed or inside the wardrobe (no joke), and an extra hour we got the whole thing filmed! I've watched some of the videos in the camera and I'm pretty excited about the way it all turned out.
3 Blog posts: I should be able to handle this...should...
