Hope your Valentine's Day was as great as mine. Being single means I didn't have romantic plans but me and three of my girls got together for dinner, yummy desserts, and some great movies. After work on Valentine's Day I met Tam at the Lion & Bull, the venue for her awesome book release party in late March, to sign the paperwork and talk with the event coordinator for the bar. It was great to see the room in real life since all I've had to go off so far were pictures on the internet.
After that meeting we headed up to Leesburg to hang out at Erin's. Liz came by only a few minutes after we did and the four of us chatted while Erin got dinner together. The plan was originally to watch a few Disney movies & we started with Tangled then I realized I hadn't watched the latest Lizzie Bennet Diaries. I was going to excuse myself to watch it when Tam said she had never seen the show at all! Gasp! So we stopped Tangled and pulled up youtube on Erin's Wii. If you haven't seen the Lizzie Bennet Diaries you are missing out and I strongly urge you to check them out asap!
Here's #1 for your viewing pleasure!

You're welcome.
After we watched several episode, hopefully getting Tam hooked like the rest of us, we stopped the LBD and put in Pitch Perfect. Again, if you haven't seen it...what are you waiting for?!
It's pretty much my favorite recent movie. I tend to watch movies over and over (drives some people crazy) and this one really stands up to that.
So back to my goals for the month. My goal for the past week was to get all of the supplies to make the favors, items for the raffle baskets, and to order anything I needed from online sources. I've decided to share with you so here's the breakdown:
Favors
Candles: everyone is getting four candles - blue, green, yellow, red. I actually ordered Chanukah candles that come in several different colors. If I don't have enough of certain colors then I'll re-dip the candles to get the right number.
Dreamcatchers: when I researched these online I found some that I could buy from oriental trading but they look really juvenile so I decided to make my own. The price is actually a little cheaper per dreamcatcher and I really like making my own.
Bookmarks: again to keep costs down we went with vistaprint and picked vertical business cards. This means that if Tam has a need to give out a business card she can do that as well as use them for bookmarks.
Seeds: I'm still debating on this one but my thought is to get sage seeds and use muslin I already have to make the bags. I'll make some stickers with the cover of the book on them for the bags along with instructions on planting.
Raffle Baskets
Candles: 1 large 'Fire' candle, 1 medium 'Phoenix' candle, & 1 medium 'Owl' candle all from 13 Magickal Moons.
Smudge Sticks: 1 each large/medium/small sage & 1 braided sweetgrass, again all from 13 Magickal Moons.
Dreamcatchers: I bought the materials from Michaels to make 3 large/4 medium/6 small dreamcatchers. Not all of those will be used for raffle baskets, I figure some of them will be decoration for the room.
The plan for the raffle baskets is to have a Grand Prize, 2nd Prize, & 3rd Prize basket. I've got a vague idea of which items will go in each basket but I'll share that when I actually put them together!
I also ordered 2 small posters and 2 small banners of the book cover all from vistaprint.
This next week is all about putting together all of the dreamcatchers, finding baskets (from my own stockpile) to use for the raffle, and designing/ordering the tote bags.
