While I look around for my possiblities...
Today is my last day with Bug & Lady Bug...while I type this out they are both taking naps (Bug is curled up next to me on the couch and holding onto my hand as he sleeps so I'm typing this out with just one hand) and I'm letting the tears fall. I try to hold them back while they're awake because I want to stay in the moment and enjoy every second of this last day. Now, I won't be out of their lives entirely, I've been promised date days in the future, but it won't be the same as seeing them Monday-Friday.
Next week is gonna suck.
But! I have something else to focus my attention on (along with the search for a new full-time nanny gig).
Earlier this year I attended Awesome Con with a few friends and it was an amazing time. I had never been to a Con before so when it came to picking a cosplay I was more than a little nervous but I ended up being able to use my Corpse Bride costume that I crafted for Halloween a few years ago.

(me as Corpse Bride, Tim as Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, & Katy as Ursula)
The reception was amazing! I had heard that people might ask for pictures but I didn't really expect anyone to ask for pictures with me but it happened! Several times! One girl even came running up to me to ask for a picture because she was so excited to see the Corpse Bride!
In two weeks I'm joining some of those same friends for the Baltimore Comic-Con. This time I'm making a new cosplay and going as Toothiana aka The Tooth Fairy from Rise of the Guardians (see pic), actually a bunch of my friends will round out the rest of the Guardians for one of the days so it's going to be kinda amazing. For the next two weeks I'm going to be burying myself in feathers and fabric. Instead of the body suit that I've seen people use I'm going to go with a dress that is short in the front and longer in the back, I plan on cutting the back into strips to help with the tail feather look, and I'll be wearing leggings & slippers. As I see it now the most challenging aspects of the getup will be the headdress, I plan to incorporate my actual hair along with the feathers, and the wings. Wings on their own aren't terribly hard, I've done them before for last year's Fairy Halloween costume. The trick is I want these wings to have the ability to fold down and lay flat against my back, stacked on top of each other. With the crowds that come with Cons I want the option to make them as unobtrusive as possible.
Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions please let me know! I'll be posting again in a few days with my progress.
