Anyway, back to the whole crafty crap...
Camp NaNo went really well. I made my goal and got some good writing in before other things kinda took over at the end of the month. I'm continuing my story this month and into however many years it takes for me to complete it. Tim, who I mentioned in my last blog post, has been helping me as I write it with edits and such. Normally I don't edit during NaNo but this approach has really helped me. It has also be extremely terrifying because this is the first time (not counting school assignments) that I've let someone read what I've written...Tim is really great about keeping everything constructive so it hasn't been too bad in reality though I still freak out each time.
Mom's gift is really coming along, it's a little more than halfway done at this point. I've been writing less than I normally would during Camp NaNo in favor of working on her gift and it has really paid off. I'm hoping that since Camp NaNo is over I'll get the second half done much faster than the first.
The Some Girl(s) videos kinda stalled. Edgar's cast DVD is complete but I have yet to burn all the copies. Tim's cast has one scene finished...yeah. The issue is that when I recorded Edgar's I had some technical difficulties which means I only used the gopro camera from one angle for the whole show. For Tim's I've got so many more angles to choose from which is awesome and so very annoying all at the same time.
I also stalled on those videos because I took the time out to film/edit/burn the scene with Katy & Tim. I am extremely stoked about how the scene turned out and Katy got an A!! She was given one more scene assignment and elected to do a scene from a different Neil LaBute show so this time we won't be back at the hotel which bummed me out a little. We had so much fun with that one and turned the night into game night after filming was all done. We actually decided that we should do a hotel game night around once a month because why the hell not?!
And of course I didn't get 3 blog posts in...yeah that was a silly goal.
This month I've got a lot of goals:
3 blog posts - since I'm stating this goal at the beginning of the month instead of more than halfway through it I have a much better feeling about this actually happening.
Haven Creek - continue
Some Girl(s) Videos - edit & burn, ideally I'd like to complete these by the end of the month...I'm sure the cast would like that
Mom's present - complete this
Katy's Scene w/ Tim - film, edit, burn
Rocky Horror Props & Such
Eddie jacket - paint sun, Mom (again Tim's Mom) did an amazing job on the jacket and the last part to complete it is the sun. My goal is to complete that before we have blocking rehearsal on Wednesday.
Frank's throne - I have a chair that I will be bedazzling like I did with the chair for Dracula (pictured to the right) but the chair I'm working with currently doesn't have arms or a solid back so I've gotta figure out how to work that out...for the arms I'm gonna ask a family friend who is amazing at all things woodworking, I'm looking at you Larry Nemerow!
Rocky's box - it's gonna be fairly simple but the challenge is to make the box sturdy enough that people can climb in and out of it without it breaking and without making it impossible for two people to lift.
Eddie's Coke Machine - I didn't even know this was a thing...in the movie he comes out of a giant freezer built into the wall on a motorcycle. I'm holding off on this one until I've got a place to store it.
Platform stairs - this will have to wait until I actually get the exact measurements for the platform.
Minus Eddie's jacket my goal for all things Rocky Horror is to just get it started. If anything gets completed that will just be a bonus.
